Cindy Llewellyn Livery & Facilities
Downgate Farm is situated on the outskirts of Heathfield, East-Sussex and is easily accesssible from all directions. Cindy Llewellyn is regularly on site and you’ll find all you could dream of in any Livery Yard with the facilities that are at Downgate Farm.
The 5* livery and facilities at Downgate Farm near Heathfield which are covered by 24 hour cctv include firstly a large, airy American Barn, each horse has its own front and back top door, secondly a covered 5-horse walker, thirdly a seperate surfaced and enclosed lunge pen, 500m sand trot/canter track, individual turnout paddocks, secure alarmed tack rooms, solarium and wash bay, excellent off-road hacking and lastly a 25 x 60m wax surfaced school with dressage boards, show jumps, XC type fences.
A small team of experienced staff ensure that all the horses receive the best care possible. In addition, Cindy has access to the very best vets and farriers in the country, and along with 24-hour on-site supervision you can relax knowing
your horse is in safe hands and is being carefully monitored and cared for.
Outdoor School
We have a 25 x 60m outdoor school with an excellent waxed surface and installed with brickwood arena mirrors. Also available for training are dressage boards, a full set of showjumps and cross country style fences.
Stabling
American barn style stabling with rubber flooring throughout and automatic water drinkers, hay racks and windows in the back of each stable.
We also have outdoor stables for new guests, isolation, visitors or just for if preferred. Each horse will be allocated their own stable for their own use.
Horsewalker
We have an extra wide, five horse Monarch horse walker with rubber flooring, a roof and lights.
Turnout
We have 15 acres of grazing, post and rail fencing and field shelters. For their own safety, each horse will have individual turn out, next to their friends, unless group turnout is requested. Great care is taken to roll, harrow, fertilize and poo pick the fields.
Lunge Pen
Fully enclosed lunge pen with a really good new sand and fibre surface.
All Weather Turn-out
We are fortunate enough to be able to offer all year turn out. When it is too wet and muddy for the horses to go out onto grass in the depths of winter, we have two all weather enclosures, where the horses can have a roll and let off steam.
Trot Track
Fibre sand surface 500 x 1.5m trot track ideal for stamina and fitness.
After the very wet winters we have had in recent years, some of the track has got washed away, but it is still usable and a lovely addition to exercise your horse.
Hacking
There is a bridle path which we can access straight from Downgate Farm, or a short 5 minute hack on the road. This leads to other bridle paths and forestry where you can go on for miles. We are also very lucky to be situated in an area of many Toll rides and a huge number of quiet country lanes.
